Daniel is very much in our thoughts and we are praying for his soul, his parents, his family and all of his mourning friends and colleagues. My own personal thoughts are that Daniel is very much interceding for us at this time, encouraging and helping us to continue in the work that he was doing whilst here. Although my heart is grieving for a dear friend, I feel that he has given me a glimpse of heaven - helping me to look beyond the distractions on earth but rather tilting my gaze heavenwards to the Lord and an eternal life with Him.
We've got the program for October now. I'm praying that contact through the mailing list will resume shortly so that we can email you directly.
25.09.13 Tuesday is the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham, to commemorate this, on Wednesday at Corpus Christi we will be re-consecrating ourselves and the prayer group to Our Lady.

Daniel Brudney
It is with great sadness that I write this as our dear Daniel Brudney tragically passed away last Friday on the 13th of September in a car accident whilst driving home from work in the heavy rain. No one else was involved in the accident. We are all so shocked at the news, it is a great, great loss. We pray for the repose of Daniels soul and for his family and friends at this time that Jesus will console each one.
Daniel will be greatly missed and his absence will be strongly felt. He lead us in prayer, he lead the music and did so much behind the scenes. What people that came to the group may not have known was that he learnt how to play the piano specifically for our prayer group as we didn't have enough musicians. If there was a need Daniel would do it, no matter what it was and without complaint. Daniel was an extraordinary person, who truly lived life to the full with a humble and loving servants heart. He loved our prayer group and his desire was to bring people to Jesus Christ - every week he prayed that more people would come so that they would encounter Him in the Blessed Sacrament. We pray that Daniel is on his way to Jesus Christ.
This Wednesday there will be Mass at the prayer group with Fr Alan Robinson the Parish Priest, the intention will be for the repose of Daniels soul and for his family and friends. The group will begin at 7 with Mass at 7.30.
Communication with the group will be via this blogspot for the time being as we don't have access to the mailing list at present.

Corpus Christi Prayer Group
Wednesday 31st July, 7pm: Eucharistic Healing Service
Come and join us as we spend an evening together praying for healing. Fr Angelus will be joining us once again to lead us in our Healing Service. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed with the opportunity to come forward and kneel in prayer before Christ. Healing may take many forms: physical, emotional, spiritual. Come and bring these all before the Lord. Hope you can make it.
Wednesday 7th August, 7pm: Celebration of Mass
Come and join us as we celebrate Mass at the Corpus Christi Prayer Group. We are delighted that Fr Sylvester ODC will be paying another visit to our group this evening to lead us in our celebration of Mass. Fr Sylvester will be available before Mass for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Evangelisation Internship for Young Adults in London
The Marist Fathers and Marist Missionary Sisters at Notre Dame de France in Leicester Square in London are offering young adults between 19 and 35 the possibility of living an experience of community and mission in the heart of London’s West End, inspired by Marist values. Together with their involvement in the richly varied mission of Notre Dame de France, those taking part will share in the life and prayer of the local Marist community.
The experience runs from September 2013 and it is possible to combine it with study or work in London.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed as we pray for those areas of our lives in need of healing: physical, emotional and psychological. We are delighted that Fr Angelus is back on his feet after his accident and will be joining us again this week to lead us in our Healing Service. Theology of the Body Lecture: Healing Sexual Wounds

The next Annual Theology of the Body Lecture takes place on 8th January at Vaughan House from 6:30pm.
The speaker is Dawn Eden and she will be exploring key themes from her latest book "My Peace I Give You – Healing Sexual Wounds with the Help of the Saints". Dawn's book will be on sale and she will do a book-signing session.
The book is an account of finding healing from the spiritually devastating effects of childhood sexual abuse through what John Paul II called the Good News of Christian suffering, exemplified in the lives of saints who united their own wounds to the glorified wounds of Christ. Drawing upon her own experience as a convert from Judaism whose spiritual healing took place through the sacramental life of the Church, Dawn shows how to help victims shed the misplaced guilt and false identity imprinted upon them by abuse, so that they may discover their true identity in Christ.
Mother Agnes Mary Donovan SV, General Superior of the Sisters of Life says in her foreword to the book: "I have waited years for this book. As a psychologist and a consecrated religious, I am sobered and sorrowed by the sheer number of adults whose lives are marked by the shadow of sexual abuse. This failure to protect a child's innocence reverberates throughout a victim's entire life. In my knowledge, a victim of sexual abuse often struggles, even as an adult, to conquer the relentless temptations of self-condemnation. In the pages that follow, readers find an alternative to self-loathing; they find hope and a cause for joy.

Life in the Spirit Seminar
Thursday 24th January onwards
Soul Food is a Catholic charismatic prayer group for young adults (20s and 30s). Every year Soul Food runs a popular faith building Life in the Spirit Seminar to which you are warmly invited to come to in January 2013.
The Life in the Spirit Seminar is a back to basics exploration of the Good News that leads to a real and deep knowledge and experience of God’s love for us. It renews and transforms lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Life in the Spirit Seminar starts on Thursday 24th January 2013 from 7-9pm with praise and worship, teaching and small group discussion. It then continues for another 5 consecutive Thursdays and also includes a weekend away from the evening of Fri 15th February until Sunday the 17th at Aylesford Priory in Kent.

What better way to see in the New Year than to join Youth 2000 for their annual Prayer Festival in Holy Ghost Church in Balham, South London. The line up of inspiring talks, workshops, praise, prayer, Reconciliation and Healing Services is a fantastic way to get 2013 off to a flying start. There will be Mass from 11pm on 31st December to welcome in the New Year, as well as plenty of social time to get to know everyone.

When: Saturday 12th December 5:30pm – Tuesday 1st January 1:30pm; come for the whole weekend, or just pop along for part
Who: The event is primarily for young people between the ages of 16-35. We are unable to offer accommodation to anyone over 35yr. However, all are welcome to the Healing Service and Mass on New Year’s Eve.
Accommodation: There will be separate male & female accommodation available for those under 35yr in the neighbouring school - you just need to bring a sleeping bag, roll-mat and wash kit. There are no on-site showers within the school accommodation
Cost: This is a donation only event. A donation of £45 is suggested to help cover the cost of the retreat, food and refreshments.

Come celebrate Mass with us this week at the Corpus Christi Prayer Group. We will begin by praying the rosary at 7pm, before Fr Anthony Doe joins us to celebrate Mass with us. Hope you can all join us.
Wednesday 10th October, 7pm: Adoration, Prayer & Praise
Join us for an evening of contemplation, adoration, meditation and music as we give glory to God in front of the Blessed Sacrament. We will be spending some time reflecting on scripture as well as offering our intercessions to God. Hope to see you all there.

St Patrick’s Church, Soho Square
Following the success of the Olympic Nightfever relay, we will be running our next Nightfever on 27 October.
Gentle candlelight and stirring music will fill the parish of St Patrick´s in Soho on a Saturday evening. Passersby will be invited into the church to light a candle. They may be in the church for just a minute or two. In that time they will have an opportunity to be in the Lord's presence, experience beautiful music and Christian fellowship.
After 6pm Mass, there will be an opportunity for adoration, prayer, singing, confession, and to talk to people happy to share the faith. We invite you to come and see.

A procession of the Blessed Sacrament will be taking place on Sat Oct 20th. It starts at 3pm at Westminster Cathedral.
Last year we got a good crowd...we must do the same this year!
The Procession makes history: it was held for the first time last year, to mark the anniversary of the Pope's visit, and the first-ever Feast Day of Blessed John Henry Newman. It was such a success it was agreed that we should hold it each year in October.

Overcome Outreach
Every second Friday, 7:30pm
Overcome Outreach support groups use the Bible and the 12 steps of Alcoholic Anonymous. Applying the truth of scripture, working the 12 steps and sharing in fellowship, participants let go of the past hurts, triumph over current problems and learn to depend on God.
Persons of all faiths are welcome.
The group meets every second Friday. From the 11th May 7.30pm the dates until December 2012, are as follows:

September News
After a long summer break the prayer group at Corpus Christi has resumed. Here's what's happening at the group for the next couple of weeks, below is other news in and around London.
Wednesday 12th September 7pm: Adoration, Prayer & Praise
Join us at the Corpus Christi Prayer Group for an evening of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Using scripture and song to guide our meditation, we will give praise and glory to God. Hope you can make it.
Wednesday 19th September 7pm: Eucharistic Healing Service
Fr Angelus will be joining us once more to lead us in an evening of prayer for healing – spiritual, physical and emotional. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed with the chance to come forward and receive a personal blessing. Come and see how the Lord can work in your heart.

Mariano Restrepo is currently in the UK, and will be speaking at various venues across the country. Of note, he will be speaking at a retreat next weekend on the theme of Reparation and Atonement. Coaches will be travelling to North Wales from London. There will also be a chance to hear him in London on the 15th September.

John Paul II Walking Pilgrimage along the Thames
Sunday October 28th
The John Paul II Walking Pilgrimage along the Thames will take place on Sunday October 28th. The chaplain will be Father Simon Heans of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. The Pilgrimage is a Reunion for all those who took part in the Walking Pilgrimage to Walsingham in August, and is also open to anyone and everyone who wants to take part. Come and join us in praying for the New Evangelisation!
We will start at the 10.30am Mass at Westminster Cathedral, and then head for the river. Bring sandwiches, and wear suitable clothes and shoes for a 20-mile walk. The day will finish the Evensong, Benediction, and Tea.
We will be following riverside paths and heading towards Teddington.

A Day Conference for the Diocesan Jubilee, with Fr John Farrell OP, Dominican Theologian
During the Arundel & Brighton Diocesan Jubilee preparations, a number of day conferences will take place in Brighton and Hove offering an opportunity to discover in greater depth the richness and beauty of the Catholic faith. The conferences aim to provide stretching input that brings theology and life together, enabling a more vibrant participation in the realities of our Christian faith.
The first conference – Trinity - Encountering the Mystery in the Mass – welcomes Fr John Farrell OP, Prior Provincial of the Dominican Order in England, a dynamic theologian and preacher. Fr John will be leading us in exploring the Catholic vision of life rooted in the reality of the Trinity, and looking at how the Trinity forms the fundamental shape of our worship in the liturgy. The talks will draw out key themes that are being explored in the first year of the Diocesan Golden Jubilee Programme. The material promises to be engaging, dynamic and stretching.
The day will include talks, Q&A, discussion, Holy Mass, and prayer.

SPUC Pro-life Speaker Training Day

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) http://www.spuc.org.uk/youth/events_for_youth will be holding a taster training day for pro-lifers who want to train as pro-life speakers for schools, colleges, and universities. We have several lecturers who will give the training presentations on the day. We will also be announcing details of the final training day two weeks after.

We have several experienced staff members who will give lectures on presenting and defendi
ng the pro-life position when speaking and debating about abortion. You'll also get top tips on public speaking, dealing with Q&A sessions.

Saturday 8 September 2012. The day starts at 9.30am and ends by 5pm. We'll be heading to a local pub for drinks and chat afterwards. You can bring a pack lunch or grab a bite to eat at one of the many options along Oxford Street.

Mother Teresa Exhibition

There is currently a free exhibition about the life and message of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta in the crypt of St Patrick’s church in Soho Square.
The exhibition features a life-size replica of the bedroom of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta as well as Blessed Teresa’s Sari, and headband and cardigan, her prayer book, and a copy of the chapel typical to houses of the Missionaries of Charity, the order Mother Teresa founded in 1950. Her life story is narrated in the exhibition through nearly 100 posters containing texts and photographs. These are taken from a presentation assembled for use by the Missionaries of Charity by the Mother Teresa Center

A Year of Faith, beginning in October 2012, has recently been proclaimed by Pope Benedict. As part of the preparation for this very special time, dedicated to reflecting on the riches of our Catholic Faith, a day conference is being planned.
Open to all, Living Faith 2012 promises to be a stimulating and exciting day for everyone interested in growing in a knowledge and love of our Catholic Faith, and so is suitable for those with a personal interest in their faith development, as well as those involved in various parish ministries and catechesis.

Help required
The festival at Walsingham is run by a team of volunteers. Help is still needed with several areas of the festival, including catering, security, housekeeping duties. Can you help with any of these areas? We are particularly looking for help from those who are a little bit older and have gained much from attending Walsingham in the past, and would like to give something back.
