Mariano Restrepo is currently in the UK, and will be speaking at various venues across the country. Of note, he will be speaking at a retreat next weekend on the theme of Reparation and Atonement. Coaches will be travelling to North Wales from London. There will also be a chance to hear him in London on the 15th September.

John Paul II Walking Pilgrimage along the Thames
Sunday October 28th
The John Paul II Walking Pilgrimage along the Thames will take place on Sunday October 28th. The chaplain will be Father Simon Heans of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. The Pilgrimage is a Reunion for all those who took part in the Walking Pilgrimage to Walsingham in August, and is also open to anyone and everyone who wants to take part. Come and join us in praying for the New Evangelisation!
We will start at the 10.30am Mass at Westminster Cathedral, and then head for the river. Bring sandwiches, and wear suitable clothes and shoes for a 20-mile walk. The day will finish the Evensong, Benediction, and Tea.
We will be following riverside paths and heading towards Teddington.

A Day Conference for the Diocesan Jubilee, with Fr John Farrell OP, Dominican Theologian
During the Arundel & Brighton Diocesan Jubilee preparations, a number of day conferences will take place in Brighton and Hove offering an opportunity to discover in greater depth the richness and beauty of the Catholic faith. The conferences aim to provide stretching input that brings theology and life together, enabling a more vibrant participation in the realities of our Christian faith.
The first conference – Trinity - Encountering the Mystery in the Mass – welcomes Fr John Farrell OP, Prior Provincial of the Dominican Order in England, a dynamic theologian and preacher. Fr John will be leading us in exploring the Catholic vision of life rooted in the reality of the Trinity, and looking at how the Trinity forms the fundamental shape of our worship in the liturgy. The talks will draw out key themes that are being explored in the first year of the Diocesan Golden Jubilee Programme. The material promises to be engaging, dynamic and stretching.
The day will include talks, Q&A, discussion, Holy Mass, and prayer.

SPUC Pro-life Speaker Training Day

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) http://www.spuc.org.uk/youth/events_for_youth will be holding a taster training day for pro-lifers who want to train as pro-life speakers for schools, colleges, and universities. We have several lecturers who will give the training presentations on the day. We will also be announcing details of the final training day two weeks after.

We have several experienced staff members who will give lectures on presenting and defendi
ng the pro-life position when speaking and debating about abortion. You'll also get top tips on public speaking, dealing with Q&A sessions.

Saturday 8 September 2012. The day starts at 9.30am and ends by 5pm. We'll be heading to a local pub for drinks and chat afterwards. You can bring a pack lunch or grab a bite to eat at one of the many options along Oxford Street.

Mother Teresa Exhibition

There is currently a free exhibition about the life and message of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta in the crypt of St Patrick’s church in Soho Square.
The exhibition features a life-size replica of the bedroom of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta as well as Blessed Teresa’s Sari, and headband and cardigan, her prayer book, and a copy of the chapel typical to houses of the Missionaries of Charity, the order Mother Teresa founded in 1950. Her life story is narrated in the exhibition through nearly 100 posters containing texts and photographs. These are taken from a presentation assembled for use by the Missionaries of Charity by the Mother Teresa Center

Kim, who will be joining us all the way from Los Angeles, "has earned a growing reputation as a dynamic Catholic Christian musician with a powerful message of faith, hope, and love. Paul utilizes his many talents to communicate the Gospel to young people in a way that is engaging, entertaining, and altogether inspiring."

Living Faith Day Conference

In preparation for the Year of Faith
A Year of Faith, beginning in October 2012, has recently been proclaimed by Pope Benedict. As part of the preparation for this very special time, dedicated to reflecting on the riches of our Catholic Faith, a day conference is being planned.
Open to all, Living Faith 2012 promises to be a stimulating and exciting day for everyone interested in growing in a knowledge and love of our Catholic Faith, and so is suitable for those with a personal interest in their faith development, as well as those involved in various parish ministries and catechesis.
