June 18

We will be having rosary and deep reflective prayer this coming Wednesday to prepare us for the feast of Coprus Christi this coming Sunday. As per usual we’ll go to the Coal Hole afterwards for drinks and socializing.

Other news is that our very own Andy Chamiec, will be ordained into the Priesthood on the 28th of June. Our prayer group is invited to the ordination that will be at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Most Precious Blood, Victoria Street London, SW1P 1QW (Westminster Cathedral) at 10.30 am.

See you on Wednesday,
God bless
Simone

June 11

Hope you enjoyed a relaxing weekend basking in the sunshine. This coming week is Spirit in the City and we will have our usual prayer group at Corpus Christi to intercede for the event and particularly for all the evangelisation initiatives that will be taking place on the streets of Central London. Sister Cristina has shown us the way forward by winning the Italian Voice while at the same time showing the world how beautiful it is to be a Catholic.

God bless always,

Damian

It's an opportunity to watch the games in a nice atmosphere without any boorish yobs, with reserved seating and among other Catholics representing different nations. He hopes that you will be going to the Y2K ball to watch it there, but if not, you are welcome to come and watch England v Italy on Saturday June 14.

If you haven't been to the national Marian shrine recently, then here is an opportunity coming up for a day trip to this most serene of places. To celebrate the Divine Mercy in the life of St John Paul II, the Marian Fathers are organising the 5th National Divine Mercy Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham on Saturday. Ten Ten Christian theatre company: This is My Body, June 20-21, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, N11 1AA
Ten Ten Theatre's latest play, This is my body, is a one-woman play about human trafficking. It tells the story of a woman who is coming to terms with being a victim of trafficking in the UK. The play is timely because the Modern Slavery Bill is going through Parliament this year but will only go some of the way to dealing with this terrible scourge on the modern world. Awareness needs to be raised. Performances will be given at Ten Ten's base in the parish hall of Our Lady of Lourdes, New Southgate, North London on Friday 20 June and Saturday 21 June. It will be performed by the Polish actress Agata Jarosz. Due to lack of funding, these may be the only performances.Tickets are £10 each and can be booked at tententheatre.co.uk/whatson/this-is-my-body

Evangelium Conference, August 1-3, the Oratory School, Oxfordshire
If you are on the lookout for a summer mini-break, then the Evangelium course could be a great way to relax and learn more about our Glorious Faith. Evangelium is an initiative that aims to explain the Catholic faith in the context of the modern world. It is a series of talks and workshops spread out over a weekend. I've been on this a couple of times and can testify to the high quality of the speakers. The surroundings are very pleasant, the food in the school canteen is surprisingly good and it's a good opportunity to meet people. www.evangelium.co.uk
