Wednesday 29 May: I Will Not Leave You Orphans; I Will Come To You

Dear Friends,

We would be delighted if you could join us this week for adoration and prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament. There is always so much to pray about, and not least this week the Holy Father's momentous visit to the Holy Land and for the repose of the soul of the father our dear friend Patrick Ramsey.

God bless always,

Damian

Wednesday 28 May, 7pm: Corpus Christi Prayer Group, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Maiden Lane

Please come and join us for Rosary from 7pm, followed by adoration and wonderful music ministry, which is growing by the week. This is the last chance to spend a little bit of time with Our Lady during her special month. Annette Murphy will be leading us in meditative prayer. We would also love you to join our get together in the nearby Coal Hole pub afterwards from 8.30pm.

Thursday 29 May, 6.30pm-8pm Catholic Voices Academy: the Case for the Living Wage, Notre Dame University, 1 Suffolk Street, SW1Y 4HG

The next Catholic Voices meeting will tackle an important issue connected with Catholic social teaching, ie, a fair wage for a hard day's work. The Bishops' Conference of England and Wales has championed the 'Living Wage' and two speakers will talk about the issues and difficulties of being a Living Wage employer, and how to overcome them. Please note that you need to register your attendance beforehand on the link given on the attached flyer, where you can find out more.

Mon 7  to Friday 11 July, Dominican study week on the Spirit of Catholic Theology, Buckfast Abbey

A team of Dominican friars and sisters in collaboration with the Benedictine monks of Buckfast Abbey are offering an overview of Catholic theology aimed at university students and young adults. Using the Summa Theologica of St Thomas Aquinas as a guide, talks and discussions will cover: the trinity, creation, the human person, law and grace, cardinal and theological virtues, incarnation, redemption, the Church and sacraments. What's more, the study week is set in the beautiful grounds of Buckfast Abbey on the edge of Dartmoor. If, like me, you sadly no longer come into the young adult category, then maybe you have a young friend or relative that might really benefit from this opportunity to get to know their faith better. For more information and to book contact Br Nicholas Crowe OP at studyweek (at) english.op.org.

Room to rent for a female in a four-bedroomed Christian house in Harrow, North West London for just £352 a month

We're not an estate agent, but I'm mentioning this because 1) It's well cheap 2) it's a characterful property with a sizeable garden 3) It's a nice, sociable Christian household. So, if you happen to be on the lookout for a new crib or know a woman who does, I think it's well worth checking out. Find out more from greg2 (at) lorriman.com

Finally, I would like to thank all those who prayed for me while I was in hospital recently. It all seems to have gone smoothly (arm still attached to shoulder!).

That's all folks,
